The down-firing configuration serves two purposes: it uses the floor of the vehicle to increase bass loading for deeper response and protects the subwoofer cone from heavy cargo. Wrapped in durable black carpet, the shallow-profile enclosure is designed to fit under seats or in tight trunk spaces where traditional boxes cannot.
