The lower ball joints feature a bronze wear surface preloaded by a disc spring, safety washer, and snap ring, ensuring the wear surfaces remain tightly coupled for long-term steering precision. Each joint undergoes a specialized copper-masking and carburizing process, resulting in a case-hardness depth of 0.020"–0.025" on the wear surfaces while maintaining internal integrity.
