The FA24 engine in the 2022-2023 WRX utilizes an electronically controlled factory diverter valve rather than the traditional pneumatic bypass valve. While this allows the ECU to trigger the valve quickly, the factory unit relies on molded plastic internals that are prone to boost leaks and long-term wear. Additionally, the OE valve operates as a simple binary switch—it is either fully open or fully closed—which can compromise throttle response during spirited driving.

The GFB DV+ (Part # T9369) addresses these weaknesses by replacing the factory plastic valve mechanism with precision CNC-machined metal components. This upgrade retains the factory solenoid for seamless ECU integration while changing the operation to a performance-oriented progressive method.
