The ACT XACT Prolite Flywheel Kit (600140-03) provides the ultimate reduction in rotational inertia for select 2004-2011 Mazda RX-8 models. As ACT's lightest flywheel offering, the Prolite series is engineered specifically for competitive road racing and rally applications where rapid throttle response and maximum acceleration are critical. This kit comes complete with the necessary CW03 counterweight required for installation on the Mazda rotary engine.
Constructed with materials precision-distributed for maximum strength and rigidity, this flywheel offers exceptional heat tolerance under high-stress conditions. Unlike many lightweight alternatives, XACT flywheels are fully serviceable and can be resurfaced as needed, eliminating the cost of a full replacement during clutch service. Note that while this flywheel provides superior engine response, the significantly reduced mass results in decreased low-speed drivability compared to stock units.
