The ALTA Lightened Crank Pulley is designed to improve engine response and increase boost pressure on the supercharged R53 platform. By replacing the heavy factory harmonic balancer with a precision-machined, lightened pulley, you reduce rotational mass, allowing the engine to rev more freely and reducing parasitic drag. The 2% oversize diameter slightly increases the drive ratio of the supercharger, providing a modest increase in boost compared to the stock configuration without the aggressive wear associated with smaller supercharger pulleys alone.
