The AutoMeter 5291 Hall Effect Speedometer Sender is a precision-engineered solution for converting mechanical transmission outputs to an electronic signal. Designed to thread directly onto GM and Chrysler transmissions that originally utilized a 7/8"-18 thread-on speedometer cable, this sender allows you to run modern electronic speedometers without replacing the transmission or tailshaft housing.
This sensor generates a stable 16-pulse per revolution, 12V square wave signal for accurate speed reporting. A unique pass-through design allows you to maintain mechanical connections for legacy accessories, such as cable-driven cruise control units, ensuring full vehicle functionality during your electronic upgrade.
