By contrast, the Banks system utilizes 3.5-inch constant-diameter, mandrel-bent aluminized steel tubing to significantly improve airflow and reduce boost pressure loss.

By increasing the flow area up to 68% on the hot side and 24% on the cold side, these tubes allow the turbocharger to spool faster, reducing lag and improving throttle response.
