In high-horsepower applications, flywheels are susceptible to micro-movements that can lead to fretting—a condition where the flywheel effectively welds itself to the crankshaft, often damaging the crank beyond repair. The Clutch Masters Flywheel Friction Lock (FFL) was developed in partnership with 3M to eliminate this risk by significantly increasing the friction between mating surfaces.

Constructed from a nickel-coated steel substrate with partially embedded diamond particles, the FFL allows the diamonds to "bite" into both the crankshaft and the flywheel. This mechanical interface enables the assembly to handle up to 5x higher shear forces and transmit significantly more torque than conventional setups without requiring additional modifications. At a precise thickness of .006" to .009", it provides this protection without significantly altering the spacing of your clutch and flywheel assembly.
