The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides maximum sealing performance for high-output K-Series engines. This gasket is engineered with multiple embossed layers of high-grade stainless steel to provide a superior rebound effect and resist corrosion. The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a fluoroelastomer rubber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), ensuring a reliable seal even in harsh load conditions and varied surface finishes.
Designed to handle the different thermal expansion rates of aluminum heads and blocks, the MLS construction withstands significant shearing forces without the need for additional sealants. The .030" compressed thickness and 86mm bore size make this an ideal choice for performance builds requiring precise tolerances and reduced bore distortion due to lower clamp load requirements.
