The Cometic MLX (Multi-Layer Xtreme) head gasket is engineered for high-performance sealing in demanding combustion environments. Constructed from three to five layers of high-grade stainless steel, this gasket provides the strength, rebound, and corrosion resistance required for high-load applications. The MLX design includes an integrated stopper layer to increase clamp load around the cylinder bore without causing bore distortion.
The outer layers are embossed and coated on both sides with a specialized Viton rubber material. This coating is designed to maintain a seal across various surface finishes and load conditions, with heat resistance rated up to 250°C (482°F).
