This Cometic MLX (Multi-Layer Steel-Stopper) head gasket is engineered to meet the sealing demands of high-output, forced-induction 6.2L Hellcat engines. The MLX design features an integrated HP shim technology—a specialized stopper layer that increases clamp load specifically around the combustion chamber. This provides a superior seal against high cylinder pressures without requiring increased torque that could lead to bore distortion, making it ideal for the Hellcat’s open-deck block architecture.
The gasket is constructed from multiple layers of stainless steel, with the outer layers embossed and coated in Viton. This fluoroelastomer rubber coating is heat resistant to 250°C (482°F) and ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and thermal expansion cycles.
