Designed for the rigorous demands of high-output engines, the Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides a superior seal for both forced induction and high-compression naturally aspirated builds. This gasket is constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, which offer excellent rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are coated with a .001-inch thick Viton rubber coating, a fluoroelastomer material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This construction allows the gasket to effectively manage the shearing forces created by different thermal expansion rates between aluminum heads and cast iron or aluminum blocks.
