The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Head Gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output engines without the need for additional sealants. Constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, this gasket offers superior rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are finished with a Viton coating—a fluoroelastomer rubber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F)—allowing it to conform to varied surface finishes and maintain a reliable seal under extreme load conditions.

By requiring less clamp load, the Cometic MLS design minimizes bore distortion while maintaining uniform load distribution across the entire sealing area. This 0.040-inch thick gasket is ideal for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast-iron engine configurations.
