The Cometic MLS (Multi-Layer Steel) Head Gasket is engineered for high-output environments, providing superior sealing performance without the need for additional sealants. This gasket is comprised of multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, utilizing a Viton fluoroelastomer coating on the outer layers to meet the demands of harsh sealing environments and varied surface finishes. The design is ideal for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast iron engine configurations, as it effectively withstands the shearing forces created by dissimilar materials.
Built for durability and precision, the C4311-045 gasket features a center shim layer of uncoated stainless steel and outer layers capable of resisting temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). The embossed construction ensures even load distribution across the sealing area, which requires less clamp load and results in reduced bore distortion compared to traditional gasket designs.
