The Koni 8805 1017 Rear Shock is specifically engineered for Monaco motorhomes equipped with the 8-bag suspension system (RR8R and RR8S chassis). This high-performance damper utilizes Koni’s patented Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) technology to resolve the common ride quality issues found in large coaches, such as excessive body roll, porpoising, and jarring vibrations from road expansion joints.
Unlike standard shocks that require a compromise between comfort and control, the 8805 series mechanically adjusts its damping force based on the frequency of the road input. It provides firm control during low-frequency movements like cornering and braking, then immediately softens to absorb high-frequency impacts from rough pavement. This direct-fit upgrade replaces the factory units on the rear axle to provide a more stable, composed driving experience.
