The Koni Special D (Red) 8040 series rear shock absorber is engineered to improve the handling and damping control of the Fox Body Mustang. This twin-tube, low-pressure gas charged shock is designed to mitigate cavitation and maintain consistent performance under varying road conditions. As a performance upgrade over factory units, it features an internally rebound adjustable design, allowing drivers to fine-tune the suspension rebound to match their specific spring rates or ride preferences.
This specific rear shock configuration includes a 1-1/2 inch lower rear bushing for precise fitment and improved pivot stability. Finished in the iconic Koni Red, this damper provides a balance between daily drivability and sport-oriented chassis control.
