The KYB Gas-A-Just is a high-performance monotube shock absorber designed to restore and exceed your BMW's original handling characteristics. Unlike standard twin-tube shocks, the Gas-A-Just utilizes two separate working chambers to provide more responsive control. The air-free hydraulic piston area maintains consistent damping, while a second high-pressure nitrogen gas chamber with a floating piston reacts instantly to road conditions, ensuring a stable ride during normal driving and aggressive performance on demand.
This monotube design effectively eliminates aeration and foaming, a common cause of performance fade in lesser shocks. For a complete suspension refresh and to minimize noise or vibration, KYB recommends pairing this shock with new strut mounts (part number: SM5013).
