The ACT VW5-HDSS kit is a comprehensive upgrade for street-driven performance vehicles, combining ACT’s most popular Heavy Duty pressure plate with a Performance Street sprung-center disc. This combination is engineered to significantly increase clamp load and reduce pedal deflection while maintaining the drivability required for daily use. The pressure plate features a precision-stamped cover for rigidity and a diaphragm that undergoes a specialized four-stage heat-treating process to ensure consistent performance under high-stress conditions.
The included Performance Street disc uses premium organic friction materials with high copper content for superior heat transfer and a steel-backed lining for increased burst strength at higher RPMs. By utilizing a reduced marcel design, this kit enables faster shift action to complement the increased holding capacity of the pressure plate.
