Tein thrust washers are essential components for maintaining smooth suspension operation on coilover-equipped vehicles. Positioned between the coil spring and the mounting seat, these washers reduce friction and allow the spring to rotate freely as it compresses or during steering maneuvers on MacPherson strut applications.
By eliminating the metal-on-metal contact between the spring and the locking collar, these washers prevent "spring binding"—the common cause of the popping or clunking noises often heard at low speeds. They also facilitate easier ride-height adjustments by preventing the spring from dragging against the seat while turning the collars under load.
