The Dinan D760-0047 Cold Air Intake replaces the restrictive factory airbox lids and filters to unlock significant airflow for the BMW S63TU engine. While the stock filters only draw air from the front and rear, the Dinan system utilizes custom high-flow filters that draw air from the entire 360-degree surface area. This design increases the total filter area from 89 square inches to a massive 292.4 square inches—a 228% increase over the original equipment.
To accommodate these oversized filters, Dinan engineered a signature carbon fiber airbox lid that increases internal volume by approximately 15% while maintaining strict hood clearances. This additional plenum space allows the intake to ingest more air at any given moment, resulting in improved throttle response and a more aggressive induction tone. When paired with appropriate engine tuning, this bolt-on system delivers verified gains of up to +23 HP and +25 lb-ft of torque.
