The Dinan carbon fiber intake system for BMW's high-performance SUVs is engineered to overcome the airflow limitations of the factory configuration. Through extensive CFD analysis, Dinan developed a secondary air source deriving from a central hood scoop located behind the front grilles. This ambient air is channeled through carbon fiber runners that smooth and direct flow into enlarged air boxes, supplementing the factory inlet locations.

By increasing the internal volume and filter surface area, this system reduces restriction and improves throttle response. The center inlet scoop also serves as a carbon fiber engine cover, enhancing the under-hood aesthetic while providing a functional performance upgrade.
