Skunk2 Alpha Series Connecting Rods are engineered to provide a superior strength-to-weight ratio for high-output FA20 engines. Forged from select 4340 chromoly steel, these H-beam rods are designed to handle in excess of 900 hp. Utilizing Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to identify high-stress points, Skunk2 engineers developed a straight-beam configuration that distributes stress across a larger surface area than traditional tapered designs.
Each rod features a two-piece forging process to ensure optimal grain orientation along the rod cap, providing a precision-tight fit and increased fatigue resistance. To ensure maximum durability under extreme RPMs and high boost, these rods include dual offset oil passages at the pin ends for superior wrist pin lubrication and cooling.
