The DEI Boom Mat Under Carpet (UC) layer is a high-performance secondary acoustic and thermal barrier designed to minimize road noise and heat transfer into the vehicle interior. This dual-layer material combines a flexible 1 lb/sq ft mass loaded vinyl (MLV) barrier with an industrial-grade acoustical marine foam to isolate the cabin from engine roar, exhaust heat, and chassis vibration.

Measuring 3/8" thick, this insulation provides a 5.6 dB noise reduction over leading competitors and serves as a critical second stage in a comprehensive sound-damping strategy. It is engineered for durability, resisting mold and mildew growth even in moisture-prone floorpan areas. For optimal results, DEI recommends installing Boom Mat UC over a vibration-damping base layer using mechanical fasteners or high-temp spray adhesive (MPN 010490) on floorboards, firewalls, and overhead surfaces.
