The COMP Cams Phaser Limiter Kit (MPN 5493CPG) is engineered to prevent piston-to-valve clearance issues when installing aggressive aftermarket camshafts in the 5.0L Coyote Modular V8 engine. These U.S. Patented limiters physically restrict maximum cam phasing to 20 crank degrees (10 cam degrees), providing a mechanical safety margin while still allowing the engine to take advantage of Variable Valve Timing (VVT) for broader power delivery.
This kit includes four separate phaser limiters that enable independent control over intake and exhaust centerlines. By limiting the total range of motion, builders can utilize larger cam profiles without the cost and complexity of installing custom pistons with deeper valve reliefs. For proper operation and maximum performance gains, custom ECU remapping of the cam phasing control tables is required.
