The Exedy FF01 lightweight flywheel is engineered to reduce rotational inertia, providing significantly improved engine response and faster throttle transitions. Unlike aluminum flywheels where the ring gear is pressed on—risking separation due to differing thermal expansion rates—the Exedy FF01 is manufactured from solid one-piece billet chromoly steel or chromoly forgings. This construction integrates the ring gear teeth directly into the flywheel body for maximum structural integrity under high-heat conditions.
Designed for street use, autocross, rally, and drag racing, these flywheels feature specialized cooling paths to enhance airflow across the clutch assembly. Each unit is SFI-certified and engineered to withstand extreme rotational forces, having passed testing at speeds ranging from 15,000 to 18,000 RPM.
