The Exedy FF502A lightweight flywheel is engineered to reduce rotational mass and inertia, delivering significantly improved engine response and quicker acceleration. Unlike typical aluminum flywheels where the ring gear is pressed on, Exedy flywheels feature a one-piece solid billet chromoly steel construction with integrated ring gear teeth. This design eliminates the risk of ring gear separation caused by differing thermal expansion rates between materials.

Designed for street performance and competition use—including drag racing, autocross, and rally—these flywheels are track-tested and SFI certified to 15,000–18,000 RPM. The solid construction also makes them an ideal replacement for vehicles originally equipped with heavy or failure-prone dual-mass flywheels. Many applications feature specialized airflow designs to enhance clutch cooling during high-stress operation.
