Red Line LightWeight ShockProof Gear Oil is a specialized racing lubricant engineered to provide the load-carrying capacity of a heavy gear oil with the low fluid friction of a thin motor oil. This formula delivers a film thickness greater than an SAE 75W140 while maintaining the low internal friction characteristic of an 80W gear oil or 30W motor oil, making it ideal for high-performance racing applications where efficiency and protection are equally critical.
- Racing Application: Specifically designed for dog-ring gearboxes (such as Hewland and other road racing boxes) and racing differentials under moderate loads.
- Cold Weather Performance: Provides excellent low-temperature flow for improved shifting during cold starts and initial laps.
- Protective Chemistry: Formulated with microscopic solid particles that provide a cushioning effect between gear teeth to prevent metal-to-metal contact.
- Note: Not recommended for most synchronizer-equipped manual transmissions due to the extreme slipperiness of the fluid.
- Technical Profile: Provides 75W140 film thickness with 80W gear oil/30W motor oil friction levels.
