The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides superior sealing performance for high-output Toyota 7M engines. Engineered to withstand the shearing forces inherent in aluminum-head-to-cast-iron-block configurations, this gasket utilizes multiple layers of embossed stainless steel to maintain a consistent seal under extreme cylinder pressures. Its rebound characteristics allow it to resist corrosion and adapt to thermal expansion during heavy use.
The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions without the need for additional sealants. The center shim layer is constructed from uncoated stainless steel, precisely manufactured to achieve the 0.075" compressed thickness required for your build.
