The Cometic MLX (Multi-Layer Stopper) head gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output turbocharged engines. This gasket features an integrated stopper layer that significantly improves clamp load around the cylinder bore without increasing bore distortion. This design is critical for maintaining a reliable seal under the high cylinder pressures found in the 2.5L TFSI platform.
Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, the MLX gasket offers exceptional rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers are coated with Viton, a high-temperature fluoroelastomer that handles heat up to 250°C (482°F) and ensures a reliable seal against various surface finishes without the need for additional sealants.
