Designed to handle the shearing forces between aluminum heads and cast iron or aluminum blocks, this gasket requires less clamp load, which helps reduce bore distortion. The shim layer is made of uncoated stainless steel, precision-calibrated to maintain a compressed operating thickness of .040 inch. No additional sealants are required for installation.
