Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gaskets are engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output engines without the need for additional sealants. These gaskets are ideal for sealing aluminum cylinder heads to either cast iron or aluminum blocks, effectively withstanding the shearing forces caused by differing thermal expansion rates.
The C4238-030 features multiple layers of embossed stainless steel for exceptional strength and rebound. The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This design ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions while requiring less clamp load, which helps minimize bore distortion during assembly.
