This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is specifically engineered for high-output B-Series hybrid builds, commonly known as LS-VTEC or B20-VTEC conversions. Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, this gasket provides superior sealing performance without the need for additional sealants. The stainless steel composition offers the rebound and corrosion resistance necessary to withstand the shearing forces between aluminum heads and cast iron or aluminum blocks.

The outer layers are coated on both sides with Viton, a fluoroelastomer rubber capable of resisting temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). This specialized coating ensures a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions, while the uncoated stainless steel shim layer allows for precise thickness control. This design requires less clamp load, resulting in reduced bore distortion and more even distribution across the sealing surface.
