Fits select 1990-1997 Nissan 300ZX and Infiniti J30 models equipped with the 3.0L V6 (VG30DE/DETT) engine.
Designed for high-output applications, the Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides superior sealing performance without the need for additional sealants. This gasket features a three-layer construction: embossed outer layers of stainless steel coated with Viton and a center stainless steel shim layer. The Viton coating is a fluorine elastomer rubber material capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F), ensuring a reliable seal in harsh environments and varying load conditions.
The MLS design is ideal for aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast iron engine configurations, as it effectively manages the shearing forces created by different thermal expansion rates. This construction provides increased strength and the ability to rebound, resisting corrosion over time while requiring less clamp load to minimize bore distortion.
