This Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide a superior seal for the Subaru EJ20GN platform, particularly in high-load and forced induction applications. By utilizing multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, this gasket creates a resilient seal that conforms to surface irregularities while maintaining its structural integrity under extreme cylinder pressures.
- Construction: Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) with multiple embossed layers of stainless steel.
- Viton Coating: Outer layers are coated with a 250°C (482°F) heat-resistant Viton elastomer to ensure a secondary seal in harsh environments.
- Bore Distortion: Requires less clamp load than composite gaskets, effectively reducing bore distortion for better ring seal.
- Shear Resistance: Specifically designed to handle the different expansion rates between aluminum heads and cast iron or aluminum blocks.
- Installation: Designed for use without additional sealants.
