This ARP head stud kit is an essential upgrade for any BMW B48 engine, particularly those running increased boost pressures or high-compression setups. Unlike factory Torque-To-Yield (TTY) bolts that are prone to stretching and must be replaced every time the head is removed, these ARP2000 studs provide significantly higher clamping force to maintain a reliable head gasket seal under extreme cylinder pressures.
The undercut design allows the entire stud to stretch more evenly, effectively compensating for the thermal expansion of the aluminum head and block. Manufactured from premium ARP2000 alloy steel, these fasteners are rated to 220,000 psi tensile strength, ensuring the cylinder head remains seated even under heavy load.
