These fasteners provide significantly more uniform clamping force than standard OE torque-to-yield (TTY) bolts, making them essential for high-performance builds, track use, or forced induction applications.
Each stud is manufactured from premium 8740 chrome moly steel and heat-treated to a 200,000 psi tensile strength. ARP uses a centerless grinding process to ensure the studs are perfectly concentric and rolls the J-form threads after heat treatment for superior fatigue resistance. The kit includes hardened parallel-ground washers and 12-point nuts to ensure precise torque loading and even distribution across the cylinder head.
