Unlike factory head bolts that stretch during installation (yield-to-torque), ARP studs are heat-treated and thread-rolled after heat-treat to ensure optimum fatigue strength. This design allows for more accurate and consistent torque loading, which is critical for maintaining a reliable seal between the block and the head. The 12-point nut design offers a smaller footprint for easier installation in tight clearances while providing a high degree of surface contact.
