The Skyjacker Softride leaf spring (J40FSB) is engineered to provide superior ride quality and durability by replacing worn factory components with a progressive multileaf pack. Unlike standard springs, Softride units are constructed from high-quality American steel that undergoes a high-velocity shot-peening process. This procedure uses steel pellets to compress the surface of the metal, significantly increasing the tensile strength and preventing the fatigue that limits wheel travel.

To ensure smooth suspension articulation, Skyjacker utilizes bolt-style spring clips that eliminate the friction and binding often caused by traditional O.E. style bend clips. Each leaf is tapered across its entire length to allow for greater flex at the leaf ends and more even load distribution across the pack, preventing individual leaves from digging into one another during compression.
