The ARP 141-5801 Main Stud Kit is a critical upgrade for stabilizing the bottom end of your Dodge Neon engine. In high-performance or high-mileage applications, factory main bolts can stretch or allow main cap movement, leading to bearing wear and alignment issues. This kit replaces the original hardware with high-strength studs that provide superior clamping force and more accurate torque loading.
By using studs instead of bolts, the fastener is loaded only in the vertical axis during installation, protecting the threads in your engine block and ensuring the main caps remain perfectly seated. This is essential for preventing main cap walk in boosted SRT-4 builds or high-revving SOHC/DOHC naturally aspirated setups.
