The turbocharged K20C1 engine in the Honda Civic Type R utilizes a direct-injection fuel delivery system. While efficient, this configuration leaves intake valves susceptible to carbon buildup and oil blow-by because there is no fuel washing over the valves to keep them clean. Over time, oil-laden vapor from the PCV system can coat the intake tract and intercooler internals, reducing cooling efficiency and overall performance. The Mishimoto Direct-Fit Baffled Oil Catch Can Kit (MMBCC-CTR-17PBERD2) intercepts these vapors to protect your engine's top-end components.
