Standard rod bolts are a known failure point in performance builds; these high-strength fasteners provide the critical clamping force required to prevent rod cap stretch and bearing spun during high-RPM operation or increased boost levels.
Each bolt is manufactured from premium 8740 chrome moly steel and heat-treated to reach a tensile strength of 200,000 psi. By rolling the threads after heat treatment, ARP ensures significantly higher fatigue strength compared to fasteners with threads cut before hardening.
