Vibrant Performance 321 stainless steel mandrel bends are engineered for extreme heat environments where standard 304 stainless might fail. Titanium stabilization allows this 18-gauge tubing to maintain its structural integrity and tensile strength at sustained temperatures between 800°F and 1500°F (427°C to 816°C). This makes it the industry-standard choice for forced induction applications, including custom turbo manifolds, downpipes, and high-heat exhaust sections.
Each 90-degree sweep is mandrel-bent to ensure a uniform diameter throughout the bend, preserving optimal flow velocity and minimizing backpressure. Compared to 304, 321 stainless steel offers superior resistance to intergranular corrosion and is significantly more resilient against stress-related cracking during the intense thermal cycling common in racing and turbocharged systems.
