The ACT PB1013 is a precision-engineered pilot bearing designed to support the transmission input shaft where it meets the engine. Depending on the specific drivetrain configuration, this component is installed directly into the end of the crankshaft or the center of the flywheel. By maintaining precise alignment of the input shaft, the pilot bearing prevents vibrations and ensures smooth clutch engagement and disengagement.
Replacing the pilot bearing is a critical "while-you're-in-there" step during any clutch installation or transmission service. A worn bearing can lead to input shaft play, causing noise and premature wear on the transmission's internal components. ACT components are manufactured to exacting tolerances to handle the high-RPM demands of rotary engines.
