The ARP 204-5409 Main Stud Kit is an essential upgrade for high-performance Audi 5-cylinder builds, providing the superior clamping force needed to maintain crankshaft alignment and prevent main cap movement. Unlike standard factory bolts that can stretch under the high cylinder pressures of turbocharged or high-RPM applications, these studs are engineered to ensure bottom-end stability and protect your engine bearings from premature wear.
Each fastener is manufactured from premium 8740 chrome moly steel and heat-treated to 200,000 psi tensile strength. The threads are rolled after heat treatment, which significantly improves fatigue life compared to cheaper fasteners with cut threads. This kit replaces the original equipment main bolts with high-strength studs, precision-ground parallel washers, and 12-point nuts for a secure, even load distribution across the main caps.
