The AWE Tuning Performance Intercooler Kit is engineered to eliminate the core restriction inherent in factory side-mount units. Unlike RS4 intercooler retrofits which require extensive vehicle modification and custom trimming, this kit is specifically designed to fit the US-spec B5 and C5 chassis. The result is a cleaner installation that takes less than half the labor time of a typical RS4 swap.

Efficiency is maximized through the use of custom carbon fiber shrouds, ensuring 100% coverage of the core face. This design forces cooling air directly through the core rather than allowing it to escape through gaps. For high-boost applications, this reduced core restriction prevents the heat soak and pressure drops that negate power gains. Note that minimal trimming of the bumper and shrouds is required for A6 and Allroad fitment. This kit is intended for racing use only.
