Fits select 1985-2018 Ford F-150, Mustang, and Volkswagen Cabriolet (5.0L).
Designed for high-output engines, the Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket provides a superior seal without the need for additional sealants. This left-side gasket features a triple-layer construction consisting of embossed stainless steel outer layers and an uncoated stainless steel center shim. The outer layers are finished with a Viton rubber coating, a fluoroelastomer material that maintains its integrity in temperatures up to 250°C (482°F).
Ideal for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast-iron engine configurations, the MLS design effectively manages the shearing forces created by different thermal expansion rates. By distributing load across the sealing area, this gasket requires less clamp load, which reduces cylinder bore distortion for improved ring seal and longevity.
