The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Head Gasket is engineered to provide maximum sealing performance for high-output engines without the need for additional sealants. Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, these gaskets offer increased strength and the ability to rebound under the high-pressure conditions of performance applications. The MLS design is specifically effective at managing the shearing forces created when mating aluminum heads to cast iron or aluminum blocks.

This RHS gasket features outer layers coated with Viton, a heat-resistant fluoroelastomer rubber capable of withstanding temperatures up to 250°C (482°F). The uncoated stainless steel center shim layer can be varied to meet specific thickness requirements while ensuring uniform load distribution across the sealing area. This design requires less clamp load, which helps reduce bore distortion and maintains engine integrity.
