This Cometic MLX (Multi-Layer X) head gasket is engineered to handle the extreme cylinder pressures of the 5.8L DOHC Modular V8. Constructed from multiple embossed layers of high-grade stainless steel, the MLX design incorporates an integrated stopper layer to provide a superior combustion seal. The outer layers are finished with a Viton rubber coating to ensure a reliable seal for oil and coolant passages, even under the stresses of high-performance driving. This construction increases clamp load around the cylinder bore without inducing unnecessary bore distortion, making it a critical upgrade for the supercharged Shelby GT500.
