The Cometic C5814-027 Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) head gasket is engineered to provide superior sealing for high-output V10 engines. Constructed from multiple layers of embossed stainless steel, this gasket features outer layers coated with Viton rubber to handle harsh sealing environments and diverse surface finishes. The MLS design allows the gasket to rebound and resist the shearing forces created by different thermal expansion rates between aluminum heads and iron or aluminum blocks.
Designed for durability and precision, these gaskets require less clamp load than traditional designs, which helps minimize bore distortion for better ring seal. The Viton coating remains heat resistant up to 250°C (482°F), ensuring a reliable seal under extreme cylinder pressures without the need for additional sealants.
