The Cometic Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Head Gasket is engineered to provide the superior sealing performance required for modern high-output engines. Constructed from multiple embossed layers of stainless steel, this gasket offers enhanced strength and the ability to rebound, resisting the corrosive environments found in performance applications. The outer layers are coated on both sides with a 0.25 micron layer of Viton rubber, a fluoroelastomer material that is heat resistant up to 250°C (482°F), ensuring a reliable seal across various surface finishes and load conditions.

Cometic MLS gaskets are ideal for both aluminum-to-aluminum and aluminum-to-cast iron engine combinations, as they are specifically designed to withstand the shearing forces created by dissimilar materials. By requiring less clamp load than traditional gaskets, they also help minimize bore distortion for more consistent engine performance.
